[ It has been an obnoxiously long day. Actually, it's been a very long week. The planning, the comparing, the struggle to find the best quality but cheapest package, the preparations, the packing, weighing the luggage over and over so they don't have to check bags, the airport, the flight, the constant reassurance that little Lodewijk will be ALRIGHT with Luxembourg... by the end of it all she was starting to wonder if her idea was a good one. But they've finally arrived and whether it be out of frustration or relief, the place seems a lot nicer than she initially imagined.
There's a chill in the air but the sun does peek through the overcast snow clouds. The snow is fresh and beautiful and white, not like the gray slush back home. The lodge itself is heavy with the scent of hot smoked meat, old cedar and pine and there's something sweet and warm in the air, pastries perhaps? Fresh bread? The crackle of wood can be heard from the massive fireplace in lodge's common space and on the board with the specials for the day clearly says that they have mulled mead. MULLED MEAD.
She blinks at the sign for a moment, tired but her face lighting up with delight as she gives Ned a gentle tug of his sleeve, trying to pull his attention away from the man grabbing their room keys. ]
Ned, look... they have mulled mead. I haven't had mead in so so long.

hahahahahaaa I still can't think of a good thing for him to ask for so GENERIC TAG it is
I'll hafta think about it.
lmao C'mon, Ned.
[ Puts in the card key once they get to the door, opening up to their room. ]
Which really won't matter since I'm gonna kick you--
[ Then she gets a look at the room and loses her train of thought. ]
too many options + omg dat room
[That's an agreement sort of grunt. He's making a scrunchy face that isn't quite a pout when she speaks, which is quickly replaced by a blink of confusion until he walks in behind her and sees the room.]
Huh.
[Blink. Tentative approval on his end... he glances at her to see what she thinks, chewing on his lip.]
Rustic AND chic, complete is stuffed St. Bernard.
It's PERFECT!!
[ She kicks off her boots and rushes over to the fireplace, already lit and welcoming and warming the room. ]
Look at this FIREPLACE! It's see through!
[ And on the other side it's their little living room space. ]
Oh there's a nice TV here too!
[ There's a kitchenette to the right and then she spots the stuffed St. Bernard on the large bed and she rushes over, catching it in her arms as she hops on the bed. ]
Please tell me I get to keep this... I'm gonna keep it anyway.
[ SO EXCITED!! ]

Only to pause at the stuffed animal comment.]
They'll charge us for that one.
[Rubbing at his nose, a little, as he shuts the door.]

I don't care. I'm taking it anyway. Ooh, look at that view.
[ She rolls off the bed holding the stuffed dog, heading over to the balcony and opening the glass door, stepping out in her socks. She looks out over the mountain view, taking in a deep breath of crisp, cold air. ]
This is amazing.

[And he's holding her to that! For now he picks up his luggage and - oh, hell - sighs as he sets it back down. (Neatly.) Fine, fine, he'll abandon keeping the room neat to come see what's so amazing for two seconds. It doesn't take long for him to walk to the balcony and peek out, staring at her for a few moments before casting a look out over the view and stepping up behind her.]
Hm.
[He doesn't really want to comment on someone else's mountain range when he's got her right here with him, so noncommittal grunt it is as he scoops her close to his front and puts his chin on top of her head, doing the latter halfway to be obnoxious. That it gets his face in her hair is a bonus.]
no subject
You like it?
[ She tips her head back a little, as though trying to look up at him even though she can't with his chin resting on her like that. ]
no subject
[Which is true enough. Mountain ranges aren't something he has much opinion on, though the clean air and quiet is nice. He bops his chin on top of her head but finally relents and moves his head to the side so that she can move.]
S'quiet.
no subject
Very quite. And peaceful.

[What a scintillating conversationalist. Then again, that's pretty much his reaction to the view - sure, looks good, whatever, mostly he's flicking his gaze over the facilities below while trying to make sure they got their money's worth.
And it'd probably look better with a cigarette in-hand but they just got here and he's not going to risk her making a pissy face at him this soon.]

She breaks away from him for now, offering him a smile as she heads back in. ]
I'm gonna see if there's anything on the slopes or food scene around here.
no subject
[Well, since he's out here by himself now... SMOKE BREAK щ(≖ヮ≖щ)]

[ She heads over to the bed and sits down, bouncing a little as she glances around for brochures or fliers or anything. She finds it all in the drawer beside the bed and scoops it all up, dumping it on the bed. ]
There's a lot here. I'm gonna start reading stuff off to you and you tell me what sounds good.

Deep, smoky breaths, Nederland.]

Let yourself get lost in relaxation with wood cabin spa and sauna?
[ Glances up to see if that interests him at all. ]
no subject
[But she'd probably like being pampered.]
[.... but €€€€€]
Mm. [Exhale. And suuuuper duper casually:] How much is it.
no subject
Doesn't say.
no subject
[Smoke smoke. He leans back against the rail and flicks his gaze up to her over his hand.]
What else.
[is there, he means.]
no subject
Restaurant, spa, restaurant, restaurant... oh, snow building competition.
no subject
[Huh????? Cue him tilting his head and scrunching his brows at her. A what now?]
no subject
I guess it's like a sand castle competition.
no subject
But cold, huh. What's the prize.
[There's always a prize, right.]
no subject
[ She looks it over once more before finding it. ]
Free equipment rental, a free dinner and a thousand Euro.
